MEETING INFORMATION:
Voting

As a new member, when am I eligible to vote?

Members are eligible to vote once they have signed the commitment form. We request members commit for at least a year, or two meetings.
            ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

How does the vote work?

All members who are current on their contributions, can vote. Members who are present vote by ballot or QR code, and members who are absent may vote on the Zoom platform in real time. Ballots and Zoom votes are tallied at the meeting. Votes are per person, not household, couple, or family. If a couple or family unit pledges one donation per meeting ($200), they receive one vote.  If a couple or family unity pledges two donations per meeting ($400), they will receive two votes. The charity with the most votes is awarded the full amount minus $1000, and that $1000 is split between the other two charities.  All members donate to the winning charity.  As a committed member, we ask that you support the charity that wins, even if you personally voted for another charity.

          ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

What if the vote results in a tie?

If two charities tie with the most votes, then there is a run-off vote between them.  If the run-off results in another tie, then the names of both charities are put in a hat and the winner is randomly selected.  In the case of a three-way tie, the names of all three charities are put in a hat and the winner is randomly selected.
