WHAT CAN HAPPEN WITH THE POWER OF COLLECTIVE GIVING?

If you donate $200 to a charity, you wonder if you're making a difference.  But when 100 people donate $200 at the same time, they raise $20,000 for  a worthy cause.  That's impact.  And it only takes an hour.

No volunteering, no telemarketing, no event planning, no silent auction donations to solicit.  Simply a great way to give back right in our own community.  Come join with us.

THIS IS PERFECT FOR YOU IF:

  • You want to help those in need in Tecate, but cannot personally commit a lot of time or resources
  • You want to increase the dollar impact of your own generous contribution by pooling it with others and having it go directly to the charities
  • You want an opportunity to meet and do something of value with your new neighbors
  • You want to get to know your new community a little better
And all you need to do is give $200 and one hour of your time twice a year.

MEMBERS CAN VIEW AND VOTE FROM ANYWHERE!

Members can always view the three charity presentations and vote for their favorites.  Our in-person meetings are always available on Zoom, and members can vote in real time. Look for specific details about how to register for either the in-person or the Zoom in the email a week before the meeting.​

What happened at our May 2026 meeting?
Monday, May 18 was the fourth meeting of 100 Who Care Tecate.  Three worthy nonprofits presented to us at La Cocina Que Canta, followed by a social hour in the courtyard.

First we heard from the Sean Eduardo Sanchez (SES) tennis center, letting us know what they were doing with our November 2025 donation.

Then our three presenters took the stage.  Taking home our big award of $18,153 was Cultura Del Autismo presented by Eduardo Arredondo.  This organization provides diagnostic testing and therapies for children and young adults with autism in Tecate. The total amount collected with be coming soon.  Also taking home $500 awards were Orquesta Guadalupana ($3882 with additional donations plus $16,500 in donated instruments) (Ron Wakefield) where a youth string orchestra teaches string instruments to orphans and cloistered nuns in Tecate, and Puerta de Esperanza ($3,169 with additional donations) (Carlos Perpuly and Raul Azviaury) which provides emergency services in areas such as legal, medical, psycho-emotional and humanitarian.
